3:00 p.m. Friday June 22nd to 12:00 p.m. Sunday June 24th
Location: 28011 Highway 34, Kersey, CO
Hosted by the Barony of Caer Galen
Autocrated by Lady Cera ingen Ronain
Come join us for a weekend of games with bow and arrow (with rapier and heavy thrown in just for fun). Attendees will be encouraged to try archery. Loaner gear and instruction will be plentiful The heavies will enjoy a woods battle (if the creek aka Platte River don't rise). Rapiers will have a snowball tournament. After dark we will be hosting the same night shoot and flaming arrows made famous at St. Sebastian's.
Fires will only be allowed in above ground hearths with a fire extinguisher immediately at hand. If the conditions become very dry, fires may be prohibited altogether. The site is very close to the Platte River so please bring plenty of bug spray. There is no potable water on site.
In the event that the Platte River floods, the event may be cancelled. Site is wet. Updates on whether on not fires will be allowed will be posted by next Wednesday.
Yes, yes, I know I promised an explanation of the monkeys versus flamingoes challenge. Here goes: Back a few months ago our fair Baroness Katarina honored the Barony of Dragonsspine by attending their Feast of Fools. As she was enjoying the hospitality of Baron Lothar and Baroness Lydia, a number of their dastardly Dragonsspinian Flamingoes took it upon themselves to kidnap her. Obviously this cannot go unavenged. Please join the Monkeys of Caer Galen in defeating the Flamingoes of Dragonsspine. Do not hesitate to display your loyalty by bearing a monkey or flamingo upon your person.
