Hi all - I know we have a lot of families in the Barony and for those
who do not keep track of events at Boulder's Chautauqua Auditorium, I
thought I'd pass this along. It is a Tuesday night, but it sounds
like great fun - if I had kids I'd take them! The event is General
Admission and tickets are $15.
Cheers, enjoy if you go!

>MASTER STORYTELLER AND MUSICIAN
>Odds Bodkin
>Tuesday, June 12, 7pm Auditorium
>$15 adults, $10 children, students, seniors
>
>With Celtic harp, electric guitar, African sanza and his 12-string
>guitars, legendary Master Storyteller and multi-instrumentalist Odds
>Bodkin will perform a StoryBlast! Family Concert in the Chautauqua
>Auditorium in Boulder at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 12th.
>Called "a consummate storyteller" by The New York Times, Bodkin
>returns to Chautuaqua with his astounding character voices, wild
>vocal effects, instrumental wizardry and general high energy and
>good humor. His show, StoryBlast!, a version of his Off-Broadway
>performances, is imaginative family fun at its very best. The show
>is recommended for ages three to forever.
>First, a tale from Africa, The Name of the Tree, with wind effects
>so real you'll think you're on the savannah. Funny animals try to
>remember the name of a magical tree, but only the littlest among them succeeds.
>Next, The Runaway Horse, an ancient tale from China about good
>fortune versus bad. To end the first half, Bodkin brings out his
>12-string for the hilarious sing-along adventure, Finn MacCoul and
>the Big Man. This Irish tale, accompanied throughout by a rollicking
>jig, invites the audience to sing with Odds, "Hoy that hurts!" as a
>mysterious big man runs into Finn, his talking dog, and Finn's wife
>Una in their kitchen.
>After intermission, Bodkin returns to the stage to perform on Celtic
>harp as he spins the tale of The Elf of Springtime, a Swedish story
>about a farmer whose farm can't produce, at least until he meets the
>elf who lives beneath it.
>And lastly, Bodkin pulls out his electric guitar and stomp drum and
>creates a wall of rock'n'roll sound with his biggest, wildest,
>funniest story of the evening, The Electric Three Little Pigs. The
>audience chants "Let me in! Let me in!" in the hottest
>family-friendly storytelling show around.
>Bodkin's CD's will be available for purchase and autographing after the show.
